Assalamualaikumwbh and hi all! I tell you, when you are staying 9-10hours of flight away from home, err...there will be lots in the list u got, just to please your tummies and throats....ngeeee!! Even, I pun dah jadi mcm Kak LG, I made my own salted eggs. Errk....back in Malaysia....mmm pandang pun tak eik? I guess within 2 weeks times, the eggs are salted enough and ready to fill me:)); my grand recipe.
Nasi daging, I have never done this before, since mom always be the first to serve us;)! So, as per requested, I made this for the other half. MMM, puas aii cuba godek recipe, just to meet the taste, the colour and texture yang dia duk imagine n storied me 2 days before. Alhamdulillah, it perfects our dinner lastnigt-(ayat tak kose, muahaha...ikut mulot kami, gud enough;)).
At the end of our diner he said,
" I am thinking of getting some of malaysian folks to come here for lunch one day for nasi daging, mm what do you think?
Wifey said(even the wife pun ada rasa kimbang2 sbb masaknya menjadi),
"Owh, no hal! We need new tools to cook for large number of people. I think we need to get BM, Ice-cream maker and bigger silicone mould in the kitchen to cook nasi daging...." Muahahaha...the isteri, dgn selamba meninggalkan the suami dgn terpinga2 tgh confuse....Tak koseeee kan???;P
Here is the recipe yang sedap tak leh blah ni:P. Nasi daging is the combination of rice, beef and air asam (tamarind sauce).
NASI DAGING & AIR ASAM
250gm of beef (topside)-clean n do not cut the beef
1 table spoon of Kurma powder
1 lemon grass (bruised)
Method: bring the water to boil, add in beef, kurma powder and lemon grass till beef is tender.
1 star anise (bunga lawang)
Method: Heat ghee and saute onion, garlic, ginger, cinnamon stick, star anise, cardamons, and screw-pine leaves till fragrant. Add in rice, kurma powder and enough beef stock. Add in 1/3 cup of evaporated milk if u like, (pls check total water consumed to cook the rice) the boiled beef, lemon grass and salt to taste.
Tamarind ~ use a bit water to get the juice
1 teaspoon shrimp paste (belacan)
1 onion ~ diced
1 fresh tomato ~ diced
4-6 bird eye chillie ~ chopped
1/2 cup water
Method : In a small pot, set to slow heat, add in water, lime & tamarind juice. Add in belacan to simmer. Off heat add in onion, tomato, and chillies.
