Masak Lemak Timun Bendang & Udang
Ingredients
1 can 300ml coconut milk + 100ml Water
Sugar to
taste
Salt to
taste
1 teaspoon
turmeric powder
1 turmeric
leaves (optional)
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 small
onions
Or
6 birds
eye chillies (pounded) - optional if you like the sauce to be hot as Masak
Lemak Cili Api
8-10
pieces medium prawns/anchovies
1 small Valley
India cucumber (Timun Bendang)- cut to 1x2 inch size
Directions
In a pot,
pour in the coconut milk. Pound onions and put into the coconut milk with the
cucumber. Heat the pot with all the ingredients together using medium-low
heat. Make sure to stir them gently regularly. At the time when, the sauce is about
halfway to boil add in tumeric powder, black pepper, sugar, salt and turmeric
leaves. When gravy comes to boil, add in the prawns/anchovies and cook for 4 minutes.
